May 7th - NK'MIP

Sue and Mike collected us from the Ramada and yet again we had to say, a very sad, goodbye to our hosts in Penticton, Kaleden and Summerland as we made our way South. We hope we shall see many of the friends we have made again in Moses Lake at the District Conference.

Sadly we were too early to make a visit to Tickleberries to sample fudge and icecream, but we had a lovely drive through the valley, in sunshine, which is a bit of a novelty for us, until we reached the NK'MIP Desert Cultural Centre. I think we can all prenounce this now. This is run by the Osoyoos Indian band, who have a resort, golf course and winery as well. This was very interesting and we were starting to get a feel for the desert conditions here, which will continue over the border. The building has been made from compressed earth, with pigment in it, so that it blends into the scenery behind it.

We even encountered Goliath the rattle snake, who was controlled by Bob, who had taken us around the outside of the centre.
